Modern DSLRs have sophisticated metering systems that can automatically calculate the correct exposure settings for you. However, there are many situations where you will need to take manual control of your camera. This course will teach you how to command the mode dial and use shutter speed, aperture and ISO to get your perfect shot. You will be introduced to the most important types of light and white balance, and will discuss the lens structure, prime lenses, and how to properly clean your lenses.
Advanced concepts such as bracketing, flash photography, hyperfocal distance, and focal length will also be clearly explained with the use of visual aids and diagrams. You will improve your understanding of perspective and discuss the key features of Matrix, Center-weighted, and Spot metering. You will then learn the process of resolving distractions or blemishes in Photoshop and understand how bracketing improves the overall exposure in a photograph.
